70% End of Course (EOC) evaluation -
The majority of the grade for this class will be based of the EOC evaluation that your supervisor will fill out at the end of the semester. This will measure your performance for your internship this semester.
30% Weekly Journals-
At the end of each week you will be required to fill out a journal on what you did for the internship and what you learned. Review meetings will be held with student and course instructor every 6 weeks. Students must schedule a meeting and discuss their experience so far with the internship during the review meetings.

Class Etiquette and Mindfulness
Having been granted an internship is a great honor and the student should understand that they represent not only themselves but Lamar State College Port Arthur. You should be on your best behavior at all times and strive to make an impression with your mentor. You never know it could lead to a permanent or a good reference on your resume and portfolio. Do your best. I believe in you! If you have any issues with the internship you must contact the course instructor immediately to address any issues.
Class News and Updates
If there are any updates for class I will contact you via email (through the campus email with reminders, changes or any other pertinent information. Please check your email once per day to make sure there aren’t any important updates. It is your responsibility to manage your emails so that lines of communication are open and available.

Attendance
You will be responsible and accountable for meeting with the internship supervisor each week and fulfilling the required weekly hours you need for the semester. You must meet the requirements outlined in the handbook or you will not be able to pass the class.

COVID 19 Information | The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition directly to their local health department. Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings when directly exposed to COVID 19 in compliance with the criteria included in the policy.
